The new lens is designed for use with the X series system cameras, which are renowned for their compact and lightweight design, excellent image quality and unique color reproduction.

The XF500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR is a super telephoto Lens with a focal length of 500mm (equivalent to 762mm Focal Length) and an aperture of F5.6. Designed for use on the APS-C sensor with a 1.5x crop factor, the lens offers impressive magnification, which can be increased even further with a teleconverter.

Despite being a super telephoto lens, the XF500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR is exceptionally light and compact, weighing approximately 1,335 grams*1. The advanced image stabilizer allows up to 5.5 EV stops*2

longer exposure times. This allows you to take sharp super-telephoto shots even hand-held. The lens is particularly suitable for taking pictures of birds, wildlife and airplanes, for example.

Top optical performanceAt 500mm (equivalent to 762mm KB), the FUJINON XF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR is the longest fixed focal length in the XF series.*3 With a teleconverter, the optical focal length can be further extended: with the FUJINON XF1.4X TC WR, the Lens reaches a focal length of 700 mm (equivalent to 1067 mm KB) and with the FUJINON XF2X TC WR even a focal length of 1000 mm (equivalent to 1524 mm KB).

The optical design comprises 21 elements in 14 groups, including two Super ED and five ED lenses.The advanced design and intelligent arrangement of the special optical elements minimizes chromatic aberration, which typically occurs with super telephoto lenses, and ensures impressive resolving power. The Lens captures a richness of detail far beyond what the naked eye can perceive in the distance.

The front lens has a water and dirt-repellent fluorine coating that is easy to clean. This means that the Lens works reliably even during prolonged use in harsh weather conditions.

Powerful image stabilizerThe optical image stabilizer allows up to 5.5 EV stops*2 longer exposure times. Improved scanning accuracy and an optimized mechanical design ensure highly precise compensation of unwanted movements. As a result, the long super telephoto focal length also produces sharp hand-held shots.

Advanced autofocusThe internal focusing of the Lens enables consistently high imaging performance over the entire focus range. The compact focus group is moved quickly and almost silently by a powerful linear motor. Focus is achieved in approximately 0.33 seconds.*4

If required, a specific focus setting can be saved and recalled using the focus preset button. When the button is pressed, the Lens immediately focuses on the preset distance. This function is particularly useful in situations where a subject needs to be focused on the same spot repeatedly.

The focus area selection button*5 can be used to limit the distance range used by the autofocus so that focusing can be performed even faster. This function can be used effectively if you are only photographing subjects at a distance of five or more meters. The focus control button is located on the front of the lens and can be used to call up a predefined AF function.
